Great professors and teaching staff. The facilities are a bit run down but, for the most part, they are adequate. This school prepares you very well for industry given that many of the professors have actually worked in industry and know the expectations. Student body is friendly, which allows easier time fitting in and becoming socially active.

Dr. Monadi is overall a pretty decent professor, especially considering he is new to Cal Poly, and relatively new to teaching overall. He is a very nice guy, and is very helpful in office hours if you have specific questions or are just curious about other stuff. Don't listen to the other bad polyratings. Horst is the homie. I straight up love this guy. Even though he may be depressing at times this guy is an awesome teacher. All his test questions come straight from the problems he does in class so you got to go to class. But as long as you do and take decent notes you will get a great grade in his class.She WILL help you if you struggle. Classes are usually engaging, and she gets everyone involved. Like someone else said, though, be respectful; she always knows what's going on in the room and will get upset quickly if people are being rude. Cal Poly is truly lucky to have Damien Barnes as a PHIL professor, he is an amazing and funny guy who has a great teaching style that makes philosophy engaging and fun. I genuinely felt excited every time I had his class. An extremely intelligent guy who can teach very very well. Consider yourself lucky if you get into Damiens class.

The grading in this class is super easy. The only thing that might require some work is the final paper (1500 words) but you can take your paper in to his office hours at any time and he'll give you feedback. The final paper is also extremely flexible and he encourages you to write about what interests you the most. Dr.Pascual is one of the most brilliant professor and talented teacher. I actually found heat transfer to be interesting, and Pascual turned a tough subject into a more tangible and awesome one. Pascual may be a nice guy, but he forces you to work for your grade by giving substantial problems on the midterms and final.

polyratings decHe is sort of egocentric and sometimes got annoyed with us during lecture for asking questions or correcting mistakes. Generally he did a good job of explaining things, but would sometimes get lost in proofs and theory which can be confusing, but he was good about summarizing what he was talking about so that the important info was clear.Many people thought the class was boring, but if you have the right mindset and sit in the front it shouldn't be an issue. I didn't do any of the assigned readings and got an A-. I did read Solito, which was interesting and worth my time. The final had a ton of questions from the midterm and quizzes - reviewing those helped me get a 78/81.
